During Spring 2015 Attivarti.org responded to the invitation by the Geo For All Consortium, who was interested in identifying facilities with skills in the creation and management of labs based on free/open source geographic information systems (GIS).
Attivarti.org uses free/open source GIS systematically. If you see a map on our sites and presentations, it’s made with FOSS software. Plus, the data we produce, and especially those from the BuioMetria Partecipativa/CORDILIT projects are released under an open license.
Last but not least, some of the folks within Attivarti.org have multiple (>20) years of experience in the design and management of GIS labs.
Summing all this up, we are evaluating how to best related to Geo For All. This project is in an incubation phase for a period of six months.
